Dr. Kwon was born in South Korea and moved to Michigan in 1996. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his Doctorate in Dental surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy. He then completed a general practice residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He practiced general dentistry for 6 years. Dr. Kwon went on to receive his Master of Science degree and certificate in orthodontics at the University of Michigan. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics as well as an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and American Dental Association. When Dr Kwon is not providing clinical care, he is teaching at the University of Michigan as an adjunct clinical professor and is the Orthodontic Program Director at Motts Children's Health Center. He enjoys teaching and had tutored for many AP classes, SAT and ACT for over 10 years until 2010. He also had an opportunity to teach at Eastern Michigan University for Human Anatomy and Physiology which he enjoyed greatly. Dr. Kwon enjoys the biomechanical aspect of orthodontics, where he needs to figure out the tooth movements inside the jaws in the most efficient way while making sure our patients feel comfortable during treatment. Dr. Kwon appreciates the opportunity to serve and be part of his community. He lives locally in Saline with his wife, Sarah, and their three beautiful daughters Elyse, Sabela and Nichole.
